Girls’ Education Support Program (GESP)

Education is a fundamental right, yet financial hardship continues to prevent many talented young women from pursuing higher education. For over two decades, Swadhar IDWC Pune’s Girls’ Education Support Program (GESP) has supported girls from economically vulnerable families through financial assistance for tuition fees, hostel accommodation, transportation, and study material.

During FY 2025–26, the programme supported 1,016 girls, empowering them to continue their education, complete their graduation, and build an independent future.

Behind Every Scholarship is a Story of Resilience

The impact of GESP is reflected in the journey of many young women like Snehal, Divya, Dhanashri, and many others. Growing up in families facing financial instability, agricultural distress, health crises, and social pressures such as early marriage, each of them was at risk of discontinuing her education. With timely support from Swadhar, they could pursue their education, excel academically, and build successful careers.

These heartening stories demonstrate how access to education can transform not only individual lives but also the future of entire families.

Every girl who completes her education creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond the classroom. Education equips her with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to achieve financial independence, support her family, and inspire many others within the community.

At Swadhar IDWC Pune, we believe that educating one girl not only transforms her life but strengthens families, uplifts and inspires communities, and creates opportunities for generations to come.
