Ujjwala, a widow, lives in Bibawewadi area and has three children. Two of her children are differently abled. She lost her husband to cancer a couple of years back. She was emotionally broken due to loss of her husband when she approached House of Smile center for help. Family Counselor of House of Smile project took up her case and helped her become emotionally strong. She received complete guidance on procuring documents like Aadhar Card and disability certificate for two of her
children. Eventually she was guided to avail Sanjay Gandhi Widow Pension Scheme where she started getting Rs 1200/- per month and also one-time financial help of Rs 15000/- under Women Empowerment scheme. She was helped to get a grocery kit as a one-time help and was guided to get a ration card so that she can get foodgrains at subsidized rates. She was referred to a hospital where her differently abled children can get medical treatment free of cost.
House of Smile staff also helped her in finding a residential school where she can enroll her two elder children so that she can work for longer hours and improve the financial condition of her family. Ujjwala was battling with extremely difficult situation in life without any support from her family. House of Smile staff has been working with great dedication to bring a smile on her and her children’s face.
